Connecting iPhone devices
Connecting Android Devices
Note: Not all Android devices are made by the same manufacturer, so the interface may vary. Some options may not be asked for on some devices.
- Connect to the Vikingnet Network:
Troubleshooting:

Open Settings on your Android device.

Navigate to Wi-Fi or Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.

Find the "Vikingnet" network and tap on it
- Troubleshooting
- Ensure your device is up to date, and the date/time are correct. Incorrect time can prevent connection to secure networks
- If you're unable to connect, ensure that you've entered all details correctly, especially your username and password.
Connecting Chromebook Devices
- Connect to the WPA2 Enterprise Network:

Click on the network icon (usually located in the bottom right corner of the screen) to display available networks.

Find the "Vikingnet" network in the list and click on it.

Enter these settings into the relevant fields/selections:

Security: EAP or PEAP

EAP method: PEAP (might be combined with Security as EAP+PEAP or EAP/PEAP)

Phase 2 authentication, select MSCHAPv2. (if not present or automatically detected, use "Automatic")

Server CA certificate, choose Do not check.

Identity: input your username.

Leave the Anonymous identity field blank unless otherwise specified.

Others: Other options may be presented, such as "Subject Name". Unless directed by I.T., leave optional and unmentioned boxes empty or selected to "none"

Input the network password in the Password field.

If asked for Domain, use "sjrstate.edu"

Click Connect.

- Some models of Chromebook/ChromeOS require a restart after failed connections
Connecting Macbook Devices
Note: Currently some OS versions will close the "Trust Certificate" window before you accept. Forget network and reconnect to retry trusting the certificate if this affects you.
