Microsoft Authenticator How-To and FAQs

Microsoft Authenticator is the multi-factor authenticator (MFA) service that will be used by students when accessing SJR State resources and applications when sign on it required. Below are some frequently asked questions.

How to Setup Microsoft Authenticator

Sign into your SJR State account for the first time. Put in your college email address and click Next.

Enter your college account password and click Next

One the "Let's keep your account secure" prompt, click Next

Now it tells you to Install Microsoft Authenticator. If you haven't already, install the app on your smartphone and then click Next on this prompt

Open the app on your smartphone and choose to add your account via a QR code. On your pc prompt, click next to display the QR code.

Use the app to scan the QR code displayed on the screen. On the screen, then click Next.

Now that you have scanned the QR code and the account is linked to the app on your smartphone, the following prompts on your screen will complete the sign-in process. This will include your pc displaying a code that you will be prompted to enter on your phone. This verifies the sign-in process.
