Body

These are the instructions for enabling Self Password Reset ("Forgot your password") for SJRState's Microsoft accounts. This will allow you to use a recovery method to reset your password if you need to change it.

Things to note,

  • Once enabled for SSPR, you will be prompted to setup your enrollment once you first login.
  • You can skip this, but you will be prompted again the next time you sign in.
  • If SSPR is not setup, you will not be able to use Microsoft’s “forgot my password” feature.

Step 1: Login with your username and password.

This portion of the setup will have you enter your phone number. This can be a mobile or land line phone number.

If you entered a mobile phone number, you may choose to either receive a code via text message or a call. If you entered a land line number, you should only select the option for a call.

Once you have filled out your number and selected your choice hit next.

Step 2: Selecting verification method

If you opted for the phone call you will then receive a phone call to verify your number. You will be greeted with an automated message to verify by pressing the pound (#) key to continue.

If you opted for the text message you will receive a text message with a one time use code that you will need to enter to continue.

Once you have verified your phone method you will get a success message and the ability to continue by clicking the next button.
